I am new to Nintendo Switch and bought Worms Rumble (in a box), because of nostalgia (played Worms many years ago)

Know it it my mistake by not looking in to deep at the details before purchase, that you cant do split screen/multiplayer on my Switch and it cost membership also.

Looked forward to play this against the family (only on 1 Switch) and the nostalgia also..

It is easy to sell a games with and SD card, but can I sell this when it is only a "download code only"

@draco_45 Physical game cases with a download code inside are so disappointing.

Once a download code is redeemed via eshop, it cannot be redeemed again. For this reason, it may be difficult to sell a download-only game case, because a buyer may be worried the code is no longer redeemable.

If you haven't redeemed the redeem code via eshop and you feel scammed, I don't know if you can return the game to the store? I would try, but don't know if that will work.

Dang, I can't believe even Nintendo, known for keeping physical games alive, would resort to this. What's the point of buying the physical copy even if you're just gonna give me a download code?

@Maxenmus In this case, I think it's the Worms publisher, Team17, that did it. (I think that's how it works?) But I agree, it is dumb Nintendo allows this on their system.

@draco_45 Yeah, you have to check every game to make sure it has splitscreen multiplayer for a single console. We shouldn't have to, but here we are.

It's smart to look games up on eshop before you buy, to see the multiplayer details. The game's physical case should have the same details on the back. Even with the details, unfortunately, sometimes it's still tough to tell. In this case, Worms Rumble eshop page says it:

"Number of players: Single System (1), Online (4-32)"

https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/worms-rumble-switch/

It's also smart to look at the play modes, to see which controller setups are supported. Not all games support half-joycons. In rare cases, some games only support touch screen, or handheld only (they don't support TV/docked play).

@WoomyNNYes -> OK.. I bought the games, redeemed the code, got the "error" for not having af membership, took the 7day free membership, startede the Worms Rumble game and found the training fun.. but could not start at single player game, that after I googled it.. found out the game is online only..

So I hoped to sell (free togeter with 2years membership) or give it away for free..

Hoped that there was a "deactivate" code on my user or something like that, but just a around 20$ lift lesson..

@WoomyNNYes => Thanks for the tip, for looking in eshop, but since I don´t intend to use eshop/buy download games, but only on SD I, bought games that I knew worked.. but Worms W.M.D I only seen in card variants once for sale.. so I expected the Worm Rumble would be just another view in the game..

Brought i along with other Switch stuff, because I got nostalgic.

@draco_45 Sorry to hear. Yeah, once you've redeemed the code, ownership is tied to your nintendo account, and you can't undo that, or give your code to someone else (An anti-piracy rule). The future & digital ownership has added another layer to complicate game purchasing/ownership.

@Rambler => Agree.. I was ordering other Switch stuff and saw this "cheap" box to 1/4 of other switch games, quick google, ect.. so I thought it could be used offline also, just at single player.. but found out not to be.. maybe if my kids get another Switch we can play..

So, you can sell the physical version you bought, but you can't sell the digital once you redeem it, unless you want to sell your whole account and other games tied to it.

The physical copy you bought you could sell to places like Gamestop, or on ebay or even to a friend with no problem.

Hope that helps.

eShop games can't be resold nor can the buyer verify it works since they would also have to enter the code. So forget trying to sell it. This is why I tell me make sure it's a game you want to keep when Digital only.
